Time to relax!

Hi! Ever have days that you want to get so much done and nothing gets done like you want? Well, that‘s how my days have gone lately. The good news is that the Broken Star quilt I’ve be trying to get the top finished is almost there! I have some more to finish up on it before getting it ready to be basted. That I am planning on working on about the 26th of this month. Actually a friend of mine has a quilting machine.. she is going to teach me how to use it and we will be basting this quilt on it.. She’s warned me that it might take all day to accomplish.. I love learning new things but still love piecing and quilting my quilts by hand. I tend to feel relaxed when working with my quilts.

In case you missed it my two entries into the Fryeburg Fair in October both won first place ribbons. It gave me a boost to get this Broken Star quilt started. It took me the Month of October just to get the diamonds finished in it.

I’ve been thinking of getting some sketches done for some panel work. I’d like to do some ocean views, some wild life…. Any more ideas? How about some fruits or veggies? I’ll be creating some smaller works that will be framed and ready to hang. I’m trying to think of things that are different but people might use in their homes.

The house is quiet. Everyone is at work, watching the basket ball game, talking with Grand babies. I am enjoying the quiet and thankful I have a little time to be able to talk with you.

I’m going to try to attach the photos of the two quilts that I earned the blue ribbons on into the web site tonight too. I’m still a bit new at this so please bear with me. I know I had to crawl before i learned to walk.. I guess I’m crawling through this process.
